All-Flash

All-Flash technology should be understood as any data storage where only flash drives are used.

The technological features of the latter are as follows:

  • they are produced in a wide variety of form factors;
  • They are used in various devices — from smart watches to smart TV;
  • they can be fully integrated into the corporate environment;
  • replace classic HDD or SSD drives;
  • Externally, they can be represented as just one chip.

Flash storage

The All-Flash data storage system is a medium used for reliable storage of information in electronic form. Such a medium can be reprogrammed, erased, filled with new data.

Flash technology has played a key role in the development of IT. In particular, it allows you to:

  • significantly reduce the time spent searching for the necessary information;
  • minimize possible delays (for example, those that occur due to the rotation of solid-state drives for data storage);
  • significantly improve performance in the process of saving certain data.

Hybrid array on flash drives

A hybrid flash array is a set of modules for storing information, which uses at least two types of media. At the same time, one of these media must necessarily be a storage system (data storage system) based on flash drives.

Hybrid flash arrays are used by enterprises whose business processes require storing active/inactive information on a single platform and having maximum balance in terms of performance/efficiency.

Using hybrid flash arrays, you can select the optimal ratio of storage capacity and performance, taking into account the specific requirements of the company, in order to maximize financial benefits.

One of the key advantages of such arrays is the ability to scale the system by adding new flash drives as needed to increase storage capacity.

Storage on flash drives

The flash storage system is equipped with media (drives) that provide maximum performance gains when compared with traditional mechanical or solid-state drives.

Flash storage reduces the cost and execution time of each I/O operation, which is economically beneficial for the vast majority of corporations of different levels and scales.

Flash storage is especially relevant when deploying virtual data centers (data management centers), which are currently used in a corporate environment. Virtualization allows you to increase the density of I/O operations on the server side, which reduces costs and improves performance.

Solid-state (SSD) flash drives

Flash SSD devices for storing information that differ:

  • minimal delays when working with data;
  • high performance;
  • low power consumption;
  • with minimal costs for the cooling system.

Solid-state flash SSDs, compared to conventional SSDs, provide data input/output speeds at least 10 times faster. Such drives are used to reduce delays when working with application software (software) in virtual server environments and in virtualization systems of automated workstations (APMs) of users.

Thanks to solid-state flash SSDs, you can get the necessary analytical information in real time, which allows you to make decisions on tuning further operations as quickly as possible.
