Big Data is data of large volume and different formats that can be processed as a single array of information using high—performance software systems: DBMS, Business Intelligence tools, etc.
Large amounts of data have 3 main features:
- Volume. A large amount of data, independent of the available capacities for processing this data.
- Variety. Heterogeneous in content and poorly structured data volumes.
- Velocity. A large amount of data that requires extremely fast processing with the maximum speed of obtaining the result.
Big data is used in a wide variety of fields — for example, in medicine, banking, retail, manufacturing, etc.
