Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

A graphics processor (GPU) is a type of microprocessor that is necessary to manage the memory of video cards, create images and display graphics on the device screen. This equipment is optimized for rendering 3D graphics and performing complex mathematical tasks, so they are actively used by design bureaus, design studios and architectural companies.

CPU and GPU Comparison

The central processing unit (CPU) and the graphics processing unit (GPU) differ in their structure and the types of tasks they are optimized for.

Structure. CPUs are designed to perform a wide range of tasks and have only a few cores. GPUs are designed for parallel data processing and can have thousands of small cores.

Optimization of tasks. CPUs are excellent at performing sequential tasks quickly, which makes them ideal for general purpose computing. GPUs are better at performing multiple parallel tasks at the same time, for example, for graphics rendering and computing.
